PVC foam board for cabinets, furniture and interior applications

PVC foam board is a lightweight rigid sheet with a closed or fine cellular structure used for cabinets, furniture, signage, displays and interior fabrication. Free-foam, Celuka and co-extruded constructions have different surfaces, density profiles and machining behavior.

The purchasing specification should include process type, dimensions, thickness, target density, color, surface, tolerance, application, packing and any fire or heavy-metal requirement.

PVC resin, stabilizer, foaming agent, processing aid, filler and other approved ingredients are dry blended and fed to an extrusion line. The melt foams and forms through the die, then is calibrated or skinned, cooled, cut and stacked.

Production control should verify thickness, density, surface, color, dimensions, squareness, cell structure, weight, machining or printing behavior and packing protection.

1. Raw-material preparationPrepare the approved PVC compound, veneers, wood fibers or particles and control moisture, grading and formulation for the selected panel type.
2. Panel formingCreate the sheet through extrusion and foaming, veneer lay-up, fiber mat formation or particle mat formation according to the product construction.
3. Consolidation and calibrationUse calibration, cooling or hot pressing to establish thickness, density profile, bonding and dimensional stability.
4. Finishing and inspectionTrim, sand or surface-finish the board, then inspect dimensions, surface, moisture, density or agreed mechanical items before packing.

PVC foam board and wood-based panels use different production routes. Confirm the current factory, grade, emissions requirement, dimensions and test documents for each order.
